Having 'interviewed ' him many times over the years we couldn't help but appreciate and admire his love of the past and his efforts to preserve the pastimes and customs of yesteryear. He and his knowledge will be sorely missed by so many, none more so than yourselves. Apologies we weren't able to attend either the wake or funeral due to prior work commitments. RIP John

We all have very fond memories of meeting John at the All Ireland Ploughing Championships when our club done the Threshing for IVETA in Ratheniska and Screggan where John always done a stint feeding the Mill. He was always very free with valuable advice and brilliant at imparting his vast knowledge of all things Vintage to us. We will miss meeting John at all the Rallies and Vintage events around the Country. May the Monaghan sod lay lightly on him and may John’s gentle soul Rest In Peace.
