For John, my beloved brother as you take your final Camino today:
"Anoche cuando dormía
soñé, ¡bendita ilusión!,
que una colmena tenía
dentro de mi corazón;
y las doradas abejas
iban fabricando en él,
con las amarguras viejas,
blanca cera y dulce miel."
Last night while I was sleeping
I dreamed, blessed illusion!
that I had a hive
inside my heart;
and the golden bees
were manufacturing in it,
with the old bitterness,
white wax and sweet honey.
Antonio Machado
Rest peacefully under your blanket of stars my dear one. Thank you. ¡Ultreya!

My condolence to Seán's sisters, brothers and extended family on the loss of a much loved and devoted brother. John was a man of the highest characteristics: absolute integrity, loyal, ever courteous, invariably calm under pressure, possessing a delightful sense of humour and helpful to all; ensuring his legacy: an inspirational role model, numerous good deeds, and memories cherished by all privileged to have known him. With deepest sympathy, Jim Larkin.
My sincere sympathy to all John's family on his sudden death. I first met John when he worked in Cashier's with Maurice Schwer and then in Crew Control. I think all cabin crew hoped to get "the lovely John" at the other end of the phone when they were looking for a favour. He was an absolute gentleman and it is a very sad day to hear of his sudden death. May He Rest In Peace.
So sorry to hear of Sean’s death. He always visited my mother anytime he was here in the west — often on his bike. His family supported me when I first came to Dublin to study and Sean was like a big brother to me. Mum died last March so hopefully she will welcome him in the afterlife. Condolences from me and my siblings who have fond memories of Sean, one of life’s gentlemen for sure. Ar dhéis Dé go raibh a anam.

In 1963 when I joined Aer Lingus, John was the first person to greet and welcome me. He made me feel like he has just been waiting for me to fill that desk beside his. That warmth was so natural for him. It never changed over all these years and even with an ocean between us. John, you were a great friend. I will never forget you.
My sincere condolences to the Kenny family.

Hi Emer, I joined Aer Lingus in 1970 and the first time I went to,'Cashiers' John said Hello Ann Keating and I was delighted that he remembered me from athletics, you and I would have competed in the same events Emer. Throughout my time in Aer Lingus we used to discuss athletic events and I always felt better after an encounter with him. John was loved and respected by all who worked with him. Condolences to you and all your family.

It was with great sadness that I learned of John’s death. We worked together in Aer Lingus Cashiers section in the mid-1970s. Behind his exact countenance lay a warm and friendly person with an impressive intellect. I last spoke with him a few weeks ago and was shocked at his sudden passing. He was one of the people that made working in Aer Lingus such an enjoyable experience. He will be greatly missed.

It was with great sorrow that I learned of John’s death. He was a true gentleman and a great ambassador for Aer Lingus.I worked with John for many years in Cashiers where he was a wonderful colleague. In 2007 I walked my first Camino de Santiago. In conversation with John he informed me that he and his good friend Tommy O’Kelly (also of Cashiers) had cycled the Camino many years before at a time when very few people had even heard of the Camino.He was a fountain of knowledge. May he Rest in Peace.

What can I say that hasn't been said already about our much loved colleague & friend John. I also had the pleasure of working with John in Crew Control & a kinder, more caring person one couldn't meet. I remember a wet morning when a CCM checked in with John & happened to mention she had got a puncture on the way to work. John being the gentleman he was offered to fix the puncture for her while she operated her flight & sure enough when she returned he had changed the tyre for her.
Heartfelt sympathies to all John's family. He will be sorely missed.

I first met John when we worked in Cashiers in the late 60's. We became good friends and shared a common interest in hillwalking. In 1970 we went to Morocco and spent 2 weeks walking in the Atlas Mountains. John was a wonderful companion then as he was many times later on the Wicklow Hills. I lost touch with him after I retired in 1994 but spoke to him on the phone about 2 years ago. Sadly we never met up again.
John was one of those people who never spoke ill of anyone . His great friend Jimmy Larkin described him to me yesterday as " A true stalwart in every field". The things said about John in the list of Condolences say it all.
God Rest You John. Brian&Maria Fagan
