Our deepest sympathies to all of the McKenna family on your huge loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this really sad time. Mackey was a wonderful man who was loved by everyone who knew him. His wide connection of friends across GAA and the greyhounds ensured that he was never short of a friend but it was his extensive knowledge in all fields that ensured you were a lot wiser after one of those chats with him. We loved calling to see him. Mackey has left us with a great legacy through his wonderful family. Níl sé imithe uainn ach imithe romhainn. May Mackey Rest in Peace. He will never be forgotten and was recognized as one of the all time Tipperary greats.

I know Mackey for over 15 years through Grow Peer support and it was a pure joy to know such a gentleman and who helped so many with his caring and kind ways. I went to see him in U.L Hospital three weeks ago and even though he was unwell he had nothing but good to say about everyone who cared for him and was so grateful. His mass was such a tribute to a great man his family did him proud. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
