John McGrath

Margaret, Aoife and Katie, sincerest condolences to all of you on the very sad loss of your dad and husband. I lived with Shane in Sligo-and still miss him and think of him often. I met Margaret and John not long after Shane’s passing, when they were on a break away in my hometown of Ballyferriter Co Kerry, and we spent a lot of time together that week talking and reminiscing and sharing stories of Shane, I never have forgotten it. I remember John as the kindest soul, and I have thought of you all many many times since then. We can’t know for sure what happens after, but I strongly believe our people are waiting for us, and if I’m right in that, I have no doubt that Shane was waiting for his Dad with open arms, and so happy to see him again.

Mags , i was completely saddened to learn of John's passing. He was such a gentleman. Always so pleasant, and courteous. He had kind words for my grandchildren,my daughters, and indeed myself . I miss his gentle presence, my sincere sympathy to both yourself and your family. I know from conversations that we had, that you have many happy memories to look back on to sustain you in this very sad time.

Darling Margot and family I'm sending lots of love to you all. I was so very sad to hear that there now existed a world without your wonderful John MccGrath. He was one of the best humans I've ever been lucky enough to know and he leaves a big space behind him. I hope ye will pull together and talk about him endlessly as he will always be present. Enjoy the sunny, mad and hectic memories made over the years as well as honouring the beautiful man ye were lucky to call, husnand, dad and grandad.
