He came to us on many occasions bringing with him a mix of folklore, great stories and was a great entertainer in every sense of the word. He will certainly be missed by us all. Sad to hear of the passing of my old music friend, John. He was one of natures gentlemen and I have happy memories of many musical and singing nights in Glen and further afield. John what a miss you will be and have greatly appreciated your encouragement all my life As you took time to connect with all the young boys around our area gathering us together and playing sports with us
When gave up the drink you always were there to seek out and encourage along the way now have over 30 years of changed life and gone on to new career

John you have been such a big part of our whole family all of our lives and yourself and my father had such a high respect for each other
We will miss the Sounds of Music on the Drim Riad as your voice brought the hills alive then as the clouds carried your songs to the wonderful valleys and prestigious city of Cashel
I was hoping to see you this year and yet I know your voice will still be heard and echo through all of Glen forever for me
