John was from boyhood (when we first became friends in the Army School of Music) gentle and honest, and soon became a musician of special quality. I lament his passing but I'm grateful that I had a last opportunity to speak to him on phone some weeks ago. My sympathy to his surviving relatives.
Saddened to hear the news of John's passing. I had the privilege of knowing John when we both worked in An Post.
