John McKim

Just heard of John's passing and very sad indeed. We were the same age and I think my sister Iris is the same age as Margaret and my brother Derek as Robert. My dad Fred was a Methodist local preacher and he used to take the service in Collooney and we would go with him. When I left Blacklion and came to Dublin in 68 the McKim connection continued in Brighton Rd with meeting uncle Tom who was like Aunt Elsie such lovely Christians. I would like to pass on our sympathy and prayers to Violet and the family and will always have lovely memories of great times.

WHEN I MOVED FROM COLLOONEY TO LONDON,ENGLAND IN 1974.THEN IN 1980 I MET NORA (NOW MY WIFE). AS MY FAMILY STILL LIVE IN COLLOONEY. THEN WHENEVER WE WERE ON HOLIDAY AND VISITED THEM. BOTH NORA & I WOULD VISIT JOHN AT MCKIM’S STORE. WHERE WE WOULD HAVE A CATCH UP AND REMINISCE OF TIMES GONE BY. JOHN WAS A KIND AND GENTLE MAN, WHO ALSO HAD A SMILE. HE WAS AN ABSOLUTE GENTLEMAN. MAY JOHN’S KIND & GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE.
