sad to hear that John has died.I have very happy memories of working with John in Pump Services .My main memory of John was his incredible humour and the craic we had during exhibitions and travel.

A truly great rugby man and visionary coach of the 1986 Seapoint Gale Cup Champions. John made and mentored that team with unmatched charisma and inspired an adventure that has propelled us ever since. His passion and belief in every player made anything possible and we owe so much to him. RIP Maestro and heartfelt condolences to your family and all at Seapoint.

I met John during my time at Seapoint Rugby Club. He always had a smile and a good thing to say. My sincere condolences to all of his family. He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of John's passing. My sincere condolences to all of John's family. John approached me after a game at Blackrock College RFC and asked if I would consider playing for Seapoint RFC the following season. I did and remained at the club for the next 10 years. It was a fantastic 10 years and John played a massive part in making it such a memorable time. May he rest in peace.

John is the most normal name in the book, but John McLaughlin was not you average man. John cared, he wanted everyone to have a good time and would make the effort to enjoy the moment.
John could connect with anyone, because he saw the best in people.
He was one of few people in my life who taught me that we need to live in the moment and not what will happen or what alreay happened.

Am so sorry to hear that John has passed away. I have wonderful memories of John trying to teach a group of us to box in Blackrock. Such a tough class but the most enjoyable class at the same time because of coach John.

He brought a bunch of lads from all walks of life together and coached us all to cup glory in 1986 making us the best U19’s in Leinster. Huge influence on many young rugby players who walked through the doors of Seapoint RFC over many years. Had a great knack for getting through to all types of personalities, and bringing out the best of the more introverted. I know that all the lads who were under his charge back in the 80's will be gutted to hear of his passing...
