I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. My condolences To Maeve, Laurence, David, Ian, Edward and your loved ones. I have great memories of the banter with John over the years, from when I was a child and Da worked with you all, right through to my adult life. I often met him when out and about, the mischief, the stirring, also the genuine interest on what was going on in my life. Anyone who did not know him would question me as to who he was, and when I answered he was a friend of my Da and his former boss they were bowled over, it said a huge amount about the type of person he was.
