Chatted with John only once while we sat on a bench waiting for a bus in Lismore a few weeks back. We chatted like we were life long friends and Im saddened to hear of his sudden death . R.I.P John

I had the pleasure of growing up next door to the Mc Williams family in Rockford Park. All the Mc Williams children are incredibly talented and skilled people just like their wonderful parents . Johny was no different . Fit agile and creative . He had a good outlook on life .He was quite simply a great worker and a loyal friend and a great person .

I worked with John for years , John had talent in abundance, very creative, artistic and a brilliant painter extremely fast. I was often in awe of his work ethic he was hardest worker I ever worked with and tough. John had a kind heart as well and a great sense of humour.

Whenever Johnny appeared on a Saturday or Sunday for a club spin you knew there was going to be great craic and tall tales. If there's a Tickincor in heaven, Johnny will be found at the top. John or Johnny Smokes as we affectionately knew him cucled with us in Sportif Waterford Cycling Club. He was always great fun and enjoyable to cycle with. I have fond memories of coffee stops where he would add 2 or 3 spoons of instant coffee to his americano.

I'm absolutely devastated to read this news. My thoughts and prayers are with John's family, who he always spoke about with love and fondness. I always enjoyed a great chat with John whenever I'd see him in Cappoquin. A great character. Rest in peace my dear friend.
