Meeting John through Brian at a poetry reading by Alan was a moment in time that I will never forget. Like most people, I was welcomed with open arms by John. I am very lucky to have become part of his family. John, your decency, generosity, openness, sense of humour and appreciation of life is a great blueprint that we hope to follow. We love you.

Shocked and saddened at the passing of John. Having worked with John , and indeed Kathleen , for more than 35 years I was privileged to have shared not just work times but great times. He was indeed a truly decent human being . Pround of his Italian heritage he had a great love of music,singing , playing his guitar and of course chasing the little white ball. We always ribbed him about his fantastic head of hair which he would say, with a grin on his face , he had inherited from his Italian side.

We send our deepest sympathies to Alan , Brian , Kathleen and Marie and indeed John's extended family and friends at this very sad time .

We knew John from the RFG for many years & used to love hearing him sing at the Tarred & Feathered nights when his late friend Michael played for him & he would sing Summer Wind. John was a loveable character who had a great presence in any room he entered and he could bring laughter, fun and tears into any conservation.
John was a people person. He knew so many people and so many people knew John. He’ll be doing the same up in Heaven, entertaining all and sundry with his folk friends, Michael and Lauri.
