John was the cool spirit of the 1980s, the master of all he beheld in the middle floor of UCD's restaurant, flicking a Camel, beige suit, channelling Jools Holland, with ever a wry comment on the banality of the college then, though he was always enthusiastic about his studies in Logic. A nice, engaging, man who was always up for a bit of fun which he marked with his generous cackle. I'm very sorry to hear he has gone too young.
My deepest sympathy to Daragh, Niamh and the Moriarty family at this very sad time. May he rest in peace.

I feel so lucky to have known John. Over the years, we faced many of life’s ups and downs together, always there for each other in quiet, steady ways that mattered. John had a way of offering perspective that made even the hardest moments easier — not just because they were difficult, but because he helped me see them differently. John’s sharp wit and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him - no impure thoughts ❤️

He was a devoted son and a steady, compassionate presence for his parents in their later years. His passing is a profound loss to all who had the privilege of knowing him. My heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
