I am shocked and saddened to hear of Johnny’s untimely passing.

I knew Johnny from my childhood and teenage years growing up in Dalkey and being fellow members of the Sea Scouts. I have such happy and fond memories of great times spent with Johnny and I am only sorry that I did not keep in touch over the years since leaving Dalkey.

Although I never met John, it was evident from any photo - he was your true soulmate.

Dear Alison - my sincere condolences to you and the children for your great loss. It was with great sadness when I heard this news. Whilst I hadn't seen Johnny for some time I have very fond memories of him whether it was growing up through school, on the rugby pitch as youngsters, playing snooker on his fathers snooker table at home and generally just hanging out. The world is a poorer place without his infectious optimism and good nature.

I am so saddened to hear of John's passing. My deepest condolences to his family.

I will miss our long and rambling chats, and agonising over the minute details of solar power and electric vehicles. I hope he would not mind me saying that I considered him a friend, though we only knew each other through work. He was someone who's personality and professionalism made him memorable, and an absolute pleasure to work with.

It is only now that I realise, we should have made more of an effort to go for that drink; but I hope wherever he is now there is plenty of good beer and good cheer. That photo that you have chosen is wonderful, exactly as I will picture him.

A man who I wish I had known better, and yet, knew well enough to know his loss will impact so many, so deeply.
