Mags, Ciaran and all the Murray family, sincerest condolences on the sad sad loss of John. I have nothing but the fondest fun filled memories of time spent in Johns company. He had a wit that was as soft as it was sharp. Always fun and for me always fair.
A true gentleman.

I wish to express my sincere sympathy to the Murray family on the sad passing of John. John was my lecturer and mentor at the IT Tralee.He gave me great encouragment and most grateful to him for my career as a chef. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.May John rest in peace

I was very sad to hear that John has passed away . I met John about 20 years ago at our first Gastronomic week in the IT Tralee . It was a great honour to work with him teaching the Students European skills. He combined catering knowledge wit wisdom , humour and great expertise. Very special was our meetings after classes having a few pints and laughs at his favorite place The Oster. This experience went on many year's till 2011 when John retired but the contract and friendship never stopped. A great Chef and Colleague has left us but will always be remembered and missed. So sorry to hear of Johns passing. He was a wonderful lecturer, and kind person, but also witty and full of fun. So grateful to have learned from him and known him. He encouraged his Chef students with a no nonsense approach which we all appreciated and enjoyed. Sincere condolences to Mags and family.
