On behalf of The Pearse Battalion Association I wish to offer our sympathies to the family of the late Comdt.John O'Brien 2 AD on his sad passing.
John is very fondly remembered by his many comrades. May his soul rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to the family on the death of John. John was a regular on Hermitage golf course with the Rams on Friday morning up to a couple of years ago. When it came to prizes, his great saying was that once he was able to step on to the teebox aged 90ish, he had already won a prize. A gentleman to play with and great company.

Sincere condolences to all of the O'Brien family. I have very fond memories of time spent as a child in a holiday home in Wexford with my family and Granny, Johns late sister, Joan. I remember John as a giant of a man, of which there is no doubt he was in more ways than stature.

I hope all John's family find the strength and love they need in the times ahead.

John may have left New Ross many years ago but he never lost touch with his roots all through the years. John, together with your Mam, a lovely lady, paid many a visit to us, his country cousins in Ballyrue.. They were great company and always so comfortable to be with. He had great interest in his home town and had a fantastic memory, which even on his last visit to New Ross, not too long ago. was quite evident. Due to current COVID regulations, we will join you via Webcam on Tuesday morning to say our Goodbye to John.
