I have great memories of John way back in 1989 /1990. when we both attended Maynooth College , Maynooth Co Kildare. a fab singer, a great listener and an all round gentleman.May he gentle soul rest in peace . John O'Connor was someone who made a positive impact in the the lives of so many people. Good memories of John, especially his outstanding contribution to music in the town. John's association with the Cavan Boy Scouts Pantomime was long and faithful, as a writer and as a performer. I can still hear 'We'll light a bonfire over Broadway' ringing from the old Town Hall stage in Cavan. John also performed with St Phelim's in The Tops of Breffni and added to the enjoyment of competition at various venues. I hope that John has joined Fr Torlac on the other side to revive a few of the 'topicals' that ended pantomime nights.
