We were saddened to hear of the passing of John R.I.P. We have known John for almost 50 years and always found him to be courteous , reliable , trustworthy and a gentleman to his finger tips. Our deepest sympathy go to Joan , Siobhan , Aisling , Bernard and the extended O'Meara and Kavanagh families.

I extend my sympathy to John's wife Joan, children, sister, relatives, friends and all who mourn and am saddened to receive this news. It is forty years and more since I first encountered John professionally, it was always a joy and pleasure to engage with him. In 2013 I last met John, at a seminar in Horse & Jockey on which occasion he so sensitively took me aside to let me know of the tragic death months earlier of a dear colleague knowing that I was unaware. May John rest in peace.
