Huge condolences to Oonagh, Niamh & Sean and extended family and friends on your loss. A lifelong, loyal friend to my brother Breiffne, John was like a brother to us all in Beechpark Road - a regular and most welcome fixture at the dining table. Always vital, always kind, always perfectly turned out. His gift was his easy way and that instant connection. His love of music is what I remember most: The Doors, The Velvets, Mannfred Mann. Yesterday’s mass was a moving and dignified tribute to his life and legacy - especially his amazing kids and grandchild. He may have left us, and too soon, but will live on in our hearts and minds. Travel well.

Dear Oonagh, Niamh, Seán, your partners and gorgeous granddaughter Ruby, also all John's close family. I'm so sorry for your loss. I have unforgettable memories of John (from the mid 80's) hanging out in his "shed" on Westminster Road, listening to Manfred Mann's "The Mighty Quinn" on repeat, amongst other music legends from the 60's and 70's, I'm pretty sure I'll have a classic mix tape somewhere of the best of his "shed" bands! Stellar music taste, a real sense of style and always looking his best. I also recall the lemon that Seán mentioned this morning and "sun in" too! Gone too soon and too suddenly.
