I'm so sorry to hear about Jacks passing.
I remember him and Mary and family so well from my childhood.
He was kind, generous and full of joy, always smiling.

I never worked directly with Jack but he was always happy to stop for a chat in the corridors of Met Éireann. He was a lovely person. Sincere condolences to the Healy family and Jack's friends. Jack was a mentor of mine when I started in ITops. He passed on his knowledge in a calm and patient manner. I enjoyed his sense of humour as he guided along. And then a great colleague on the roster, so easy to get on with. A lovely man who will be sadly missed. Rest in peace Jack.

My sympathies and condolences to Jack's family. He and I worked in the Central Analysis & Forecasting Office at 44 Upper O'Connell Street and later in its new location in Glasnevin. He was always a wise, guiding light - particularly so for those beginning their careers in meteorology.

When I heard of Jack’s passing, I thought to myself “There goes one of life’s good guys.” Jack always seemed to have a smile on his face and was great company.

One day I mentioned a certain jazz musician to him. As he replied, I realised by his demeanour that he knew way more about this jazz musician than I would ever know. But he was just far too modest to elaborate further. He wore his knowledge lightly.

May he rest in peace.

Rest in Peace, Jack. I only got to meet Jack recently as he shared a home with my father. When I'd visit, Jack was always a smiling, mild-mannered gentleman. You could see his inherent goodness. My love and condolences to his lovely family.

He was a kind, helpful and always good humoured person and always had time for a funny reminiscence and story. He brightened the room. Jack was a wonderful friendly, knowledgeable and generous colleague to all of us who were privileged to know and work with him at Met Éireann. Jack had a great sense of humour and he always had a smile on his face that brightened up every moment he was around. His enthusiasm for upskilling, keeping up to date, and updating IT documentation throughout his career was exemplary and his colleagues often referenced Jack's notes when troubleshooting operational IT systems. Jack warmly welcomed new staff who were assigned to shadow him on shift duties before they joined the roster. Jack always inspired colleagues to give of their best, as he did with ease.

I have very fond memories of Jack. During the formative years of my career in Met Éireann in the early 1980s, his kindness,guidance and support meant a great deal to me. RIP Jack.
