The Post Office is one of the main Hubs in rural Ireland. John and his father Charlie were among the first to make us feel welcome in Convoy in the 1980's. John was always kind and sincere delivering a good service to our community. In the same way it is wonderful that the next John Moore and his wife April continue that family tradition. To Charlie, Anna, Brid and Teresa, their families and the extended Moore family please accept our sincere condolences. John Moore was a hard working kind and quiet man who lived his life in his own way but was always delighted to take the time to stop and have a conversation taking an interest in others and often leaving us with an interesting thought to mull over. Of all the people that he will have met in his lifetime no one will forget him. A unique person. Rest in peace John Moore.

The end of an era. So sorry to hear this sad news. I was delighted to meet up with John a few months ago standing at his usual post at the wall at his beloved Main Street home, where we had a great catch up. It was as always, a pleasure to meet this most interesting and unique person, of whom could only be described as an institution in Convoy. Most definitely the end of an era on Convoys Main Street. Rest in peace dear John, a much respected former schoolfriend of my late father.
