I was devastated when I heard the news about John. He was such a great friend of mine from primary school days and beyond. Knew John when he was an instructor at Weston airport and flew with him on some memorable trips out to the Arann Islands. He was an absolute gent, had a kind word to say about everyone. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathies go out to his family at this difficult time.
