John Philpott

With deepest sympathy to the Philpott family. I have very fond memories of John growing up in Doneraile and in school together. He was full of innocent lighthearted fun and also very bright. He would have several pages of an Irish or English essay written while the rest of us were still contemplating the title.

Sincere condolences to John’s family on his passing John was in my class in Doneraile Secondary school Always a very pleasant guy to all his class mates who enjoyed a good joke and laugh

John and I were best buddies in National school I remember him in school being able to memorise passages from our history book which we were required to recite back to Br Lombard and he was able to do it word for word
I have very fond memories of the two of us hunting the wren , when finished having turkey sandwiches and steaming how tea with my aunt Mary Kelleher, smoking major cigarettes at his home which we bought for John O Riordan at Doneraile stores
John was an honest and friendly person and I lost touch with him when he went to England
