I first met John while a vet student and also shared his love of horse racing so we had plenty to talk about whenever we met.

Very sad to hear of Johnny's death. A gentleman. In the 60s in Wesley College, he taught me how to tie a very complicated but very good half Windsor knot! I still use it. Rest in peace.

My dad John G was a friend and work colleague of John in the Limerick DVO and he had great memories of the good times he had with the group in the department and later on when my dad moved to the factory in Nenagh
