Deepest condolences to the Doyle family. Mr Doyle was my history & geography teacher for leaving cert (1977-1979). He was fantastic and instilled a great love and respect for both his subjects. His name often comes up when I meet school friends. He arranged a 'geography field trip' in 1978 to Scotland which was the first time most of us had left Ireland. He really cared about his students and motivated many of us to think independently particularly in relation to history. Sincere sympathies to all of you
Helen Mitchell ( Class of 1979)

Thank you for all the lovely memories.

Deepest sympathy and condolences to Julie, Carmel and all the Doyle family on your great loss. Raphy was an exceptional person with an abundance of talent. He had encyclopaedic knowledge of history, genealogy and music.A fascinating conversationalist, I vividly recall him speaking about James Joyce with such passion and knowledge. He had a genuine love of books and learning, a trait shared with other members of his family. I knew him best as a musician and he was one of the best. Last year the master piper, Paddy Kennan asked Raphy to play with him in concert and the result was amazing.
Raphy will by missed by Julie and all the Doyle family and the Irish traditional music community,
