I got to know John from the Leeds trips. We got chatting as we both headed home from Leeds, by train/ plane. The Leeds matches won't be the same without John.

His family warmly welcomed me to their home in Dublin, as I was in town for the Scotland game. Well, except for his Yorkshire terrier.... who did not take at all well to a Scottish visitor!

I take comfort in continuing to have contact with the family through eeds United and look forward to future meet ups with the Redmonds.

So sorry to hear of the passing of my good friend John, a gentleman and the best Leeds United fan I ever met, I know John from growing up in Kilmore West many moons ago when we were kids, he lived on Dundaniel Road and I lived on Ballyshannon Road, 2 adjacent roads, we always kept in touch through our mutual love for Leeds United, many chats and moans we had on the telephone but he always firstly asked me how my health was even though he was not well himself, it just goes to show the calibre of the man, so glad I got to see him in the Hospice a couple of weeks ago and we had a good chat, rest in peace my old friend, Marching on Together.
