RIP Uncle John - sorry I did not know you had passed. I have many happy memories of you showing your slideshows of your travels to your Aunt and your sister Nora. Glad you lived a full and fulfilling life. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
John was my uncle and helped supervise my long holidays in Dublin whilst I was at school. I loved the fact that he was a fireman and that he would race me down the back lanes. Brendon Foley myself and John started the building of the garage at 33 Celtic Park Ave and this was my first construction job in about 1967 or 8. He also took my 3 children out on a home-made glass fibre boat at Rush in about 1988 (Dublins great for all you who remember!) and again hosted Thomas, Blanca and Lucas Kian Donegan last year. 3 generations of fun.
I also wish to note that he introduced me to the songs "Rocky Road to Dublin" and "Goodbye Mursheen Durken" which I have sung many a time and oft since !
I will miss him greatly he has been a part of my life for 65 years.

John was my uncle and we shared many fun times together, both in Ireland and Canada. He joined my wife Angie and I on holidays, boating and philosophy classes. Conversations with John were always informative and interesting.
He will be missed by us and our daughters. He helped bring the cousins (his "niblings") together and we enjoy good relationships to this day. Our sadness at his passing is tempered by thoughts on a life well lived.

Sorry I can't make the funeral. I remember my last visit to Dublin John was fab taking me all over the place, showing me the sights, including the Jameson and Guiness factories, and we had a lovely time doing their tours. :-) He was definitely a Great uncle. Much love Xxxx
