John Rioch

Sad news of John's passing for both Sam & family, but also many work mates at CMG. After reaching the MD stage of my interview at CMG Moorgate offices in 1984, John said "job is yours... DRINK?". Best decision I ever made. Lovely to see John's photo. Much missed. But never forgotten. RIP. John. Thank you, Ralph

John created a real buzz of energy when he arrived at CMG in Glasgow. He was well liked, drove us up to a "pound and a penny" profit in his first year and he always had a sense of fun. A lovely man. My condolences.

John was my first boss at CMG. I learnt so much from him, and will be forever grateful for the time he spent teaching and encouraging me, both formally and informally - often over a coffee at about 7:30 in the morning.

Very sad to hear about the passing of John, I knew him from the day he joined CMG and we worked together in a number of different arrangements over the years and were always friends.

I always remember going to his and Sam's wedding celebration, lovely event.

Not been in touch with John for a long time but he will always be in my mind as a friend.

Really sorry to hear this news. John was a true CMG legend and a friend from the moment I met him. I owed him a lot as he pushed me forward and was obviously a sponsor of mine from the beginning of our working relationship. That soon moved forward to a personal one which I will always remember. Bless you all.

Sam, Charlie, Izzie and Ruby I am heartbroken to hear this news. Your Dad was such a gentleman and I have such fond memories of him. His dedication to you all was a joy to watch for the past 20 plus years that I have known you all. The unwavering support he offered not just his own family but to his friends and to my family was truly admirable. He will be missed by so many. RIP John x
