John was our next door neighbour - we always smiled at our two surnames being the same as a well known Irish company where their product was used in every household in the country. My brother told me this week that John built our hay shed in September 1973. An early recollection I have of John, was him taking to the stage in a variety concert In Drumreilly in the early 70s, strumming a guitar, while simultaneously playing the mouth organ that was fixed on his home made steel collar - created a big impression on youngsters over 50 years ago. My sincerest sympathy to Rhoda & their son Philip & also to Edith, Joe, Florence, Kenneth & Shirley & the extended Patterson family - may John’s gentle soul rest in peace.
