So sad to hear of Johnnie's passing. We watched the ceremony in Mount Jerome on line, with tears of laughter and sadness at all the wonderful stories. So many memories, and thankful to be part of them. Johnnie was a one off, and will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace.

I was so sad to hear of Johnnies death. He was a great friend and talented engineer. We worked on numerous projects together over the decades and shared many memorable social evenings.
His boyishness often masked his engineering professionalism and his ability to bring inventive structural solutions to schemes. I will miss him hugely.

So sorry to hear of Johnny's death . We knew him in UCG and have nothing but great memories of him . We met you Penny just after yourself and Johnny got married and you were staying in the Skeff. We had a great night with you and all of Johnny's pals . You were on your way to the Aran Islands the next day .Sincere condolences to all the family, may Johnny soar with the angels

My sincere sympathies to Johnnie's family on the loss of such a wonderful companion. His endless good humour is encapsulated for me in my memory of him laughing in the sea off Bullock when the Flying Fifteen he was crewing sank beneath him - his great sense of fun overcame everything, and I loved meeting him.
To Penny and family, our times looking after Johnny were always happy and with his infectious smile he brought a smile to us all. He will be sailing the good seas to his rest now.God bless him. Xx

I had the honor of meeting Johnnie only a few years back on the annual ski trip. He was a gentleman on piste always willing to share his experience and hold back to ensure that all the group stayed safe. Off the snow at lunch or dinner he was excellent company who constantly held our attention with stories from his many adventures over the years. He will be greatly missed within the group. Condolences to all his family from one of the Kilkenny crew.
