I was saddened to hear that Seán passed away. It was truly a pleasure to meet Him on my way. Deepest condolences to the Family.
It’s with much sadness that I’ve just learned of the passing of my friend and colleague John S. Gunning. He was indeed a hugely competent kind and decent man and greatly respected at home and abroad especially here in Vietnam.

Over the years John made many significant contributions to the development of the Vietnamese Energy Sector and for his efforts was awarded by the Vietnamese Government the Certificate for Vietnam Industrial Development and the Remembrance Medal. Finally in 2015 one of Vietnams highest honors was presented to John by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Hoang Trung Hai namely The Vietnamese Friendship Medal.

John, an exceptional man and terrific raconteur will be greatly missed by all.

My sincere condolences to the Gunning family at this very sad time.
