Kathleen and all of the Scanlon family. I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was a great friend and neighbour to my late parents Tom and Anne English. We will miss seeing him working away in his garden at the back of the terrace. Thinking of you all at this sad time.

So sorry to hear of John’s passing. My sincere sympathies to you Kathleen and your beautiful family and extended Scanlon and Coll families. I worked with you both at The Spinning Wheel during Summer holidays and the Races in my teenage years 1980 - 1982
It was a lovely time and John inspired me to do a good job, have high standards and value customers.
This stayed with me throughout my Hotel and Catering Career.

My sincere condolences to Kathleen and family on passing of John a truly genuine and sincere man - he lived a very full life and was always a pleasure to meet and chat with.

We were so sorry to hear that John had passed away. He seemed to have the secret of eternal youth and always looked so well. Lovely memories of the tasty food in The Spinning Wheel especially the burger and chips and delicious apple pie. May John’s gentle soul rest in peace in his Heavenly home
