John (Sean) Byers

Deepest sympathy to Mary and the extended Byers family on Sean's passing. Have fond memories of Sean down through the years and always looked forward to his Irish nights in Crosskeys and his many visits to Treanors bar in Clones. From his days on Breffni radio to Shannonside Northern Sound Sean entertained us all and will be sorely missed. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

We were deeply saddened to hear of John's passing.

We'd like to offer our sincerest condolences to Mary, Graham, Paul, and John's extended family.

John was certainly a character, and Sean had the pleasure of working alongside him while at Breffni Radio and Northern Sound.

John made a lasting contribution to his community, to Gaelic football, and to the world of Irish traditional music, the latter which he loved dearly.

It's strange but I was only thinking of Sean Byers yesterday and sadly I read he has passed away. Some years ago I used to teach in Cavan and Sean was the presenter who would record our sessions and broadcast them then. What a lovely man he was, always showed great respect - a great and loyal friend to the tradition. Condolences to all his family, extended family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
