John (Seán) O'Driscoll

Assistant Commissioner John did wonderful work for the Irish state. I just read his book On Duty. It really shows off his work ethic and love for An Garda Síochána and the Irish State.

Am so shocked and saddened to hear of John's passing. Always admired him on the tv and especially in relation to his crime work. He seemed fearless, invincible and incredibly brave. I'm sure his knowledge and assurance is missed to by his colleagues alike.

I am really saddened to hear of John's recent passing. My deepest sympathy to his wife and family. My path crossed with John on so many occassions when he worked in GNIB and more recently on an interview board in the Policing Authority. In my dealings with John he was always a gentleman, forthright, and the epitome of an exemplary leader in An Garda Síochana. He served his Country so well and leaves very large shoes to fill. Rest in Peace John.
