John (Seán) Seery

Sad to hear of John's passing. He showed great christian kindness to me during my time working in FAS Tallaght. RIP.

To the family of Mr John Seery I wish to convey my sincere condolences.
As a former CIE apprentice of John’s, (Mr Seery to us) from 1970 I still remember his kindness to me as young chap for the country. He guided us through our apprenticeship with the care of a kind and benevolent father figure. He was like a daddy to us all. He was never boastful about how great he was or the engineering things he could do, we just knew he was great.
Without him ever knowing it John had a huge impact on my chosen career and on many occasions of decision in my life I would often reflect on what Mr Seery might do in such circumstance.
Mr Seery will be sadly missed.

So so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was a true gentleman who lived for his family. We used to enjoy a lot our chats down in the swimming pool in Carlisle. John introduced me to the Dublin Literary awards reading lists, which opened up a different genre of reading books for me. He truly loved his reading and talking about his family. He will be missed.
