Dear Clare,
We were so very sorry to hear that John had passed away suddenly and wish to express our sincere condolences to you, Niamh, Aisling, Brendan and of course, Jimmy.
John was a wonderful man and Bev and I enjoyed the times we spent with you when you came to Luxembourg and more recently when we met at the Purty Kitchen.
I, of course have very fond memories of the times I spent with John on rugby weekends. He really was a gentleman in every sense of the word and so very knowledgeable about the game…in fact, there wasn’t much he didn’t know anything about, let alone rugby.
The service that we were able to attend via the internet was beautiful and a fitting farewell to John.
May John Rest in Peace
With Deepest Sympathy.

Sincere sympathy Clare, Niamh, Aisling, Brendan and Jim on the sad and untimely passing of John. Many good memories of John going back to student days in the old Engineering School in Merrion Street, then as a colleague in CIE, and latterly at College Class reunions and various chance encounters. He was always a constructive contributor to anything he became involved in, with his tall stature and deep voice securing instant attention. His sudden decease is a very great shock to all his many friends and contemporaries.
