John was a lovely man, my sincere condolences to his family. I was a close neighbour and friend to the family for many years growing up in Garryowen, and I’m thinking of them all at this very sad time. Keeping you all in our thoughts.

Sincere sympathy to all who loved John and that were loved by him.Some great memories of John growing up in Garryowen.A fierce competitor in all sports but especally boxing.We one had a race to swim across the Shannon river at the Shannon Fields in the 60s John tired and had to be rescued by my Dad Jack.We often joked when we would meet afterwards that was the only time that I beat him
