I got to know John Val in 2007 on my first trip to Lourdes and I looked forward every year to meeting him at cork airport and that roguish infectious smile that lit up his whole face. John Val was a true gentleman and it was always a pleasure to be in his company, he had a truly amazing devotion to our lady of Lourdes and it was an honour to help him be a part of each pilgrimage, so many people have had the honour of getting a blessed rosary beads over the years , May his gentle soul rest in peace
