It is with the deepest sympathy that we send our condolences to John's wife Marie; Children, Karen and John and Grandchildren, Adam, Nicole and Aoife, from his extended family across the miles, at this very sad time.
The passing of John has been felt very deeply by his family in Bury and we share in the grief of his friends and family in Ireland.
John will be much missed by all as a generous, warm, strong and steadfast man who warmly extended his hospitality to us over the years.
His fondness for Bury FC, Bury market, fish and chips and meat pies remain a firm memory of John's visits to his hometown. We always looked forward to his visits and enjoyed his company, the memories and experiences he shared and his love for his birth place.
We are incredibly saddened to be writing this message of condolence but write it with great affection for a much loved man.
