I have lovely memories of being your wedding photographer 21 years ago in beautiful South Africa spending time with you, your parents and all the family.

Over the years, I have enjoyed hearing lovely stories of your dad's adventures with you when he visited you all out in Australia.

My thoughts are with you all during this sad time.

My he and your mum Claire both rest in peace together.
We were really sorry to learn of John’s passing. Please accept our deepest condolences to all the Walsh family.

Maura and John grew up in Sunday’s Well at the same time so a lot of shared stories and reminiscences. We were close neighbours and he became very good friend to me over the years. We always met regularly when we were back in Cork, enjoying many evenings together over a glass. John was always a great help with any issues that came up with next door at 66.

We shared a lot in common, whether it was rugby or, especially, John's experiences early in his career in Glasgow where I grew up. He was always full of anecdotes when we got together (he had lots of them!)

A nice, nice man.We will really miss his friendship and good company. Again very, very sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear of the passing of John, a great friend and neighbour to my parents, and more recently neighbour and friend to my brother & family. Sincerest sympathies to all John’s family. May he RIP with Claire.
Alex, Ben, Robbie and Steven, and all of the wider Wilson and Walsh Family, sincerest sympathies to you on the loss of John. He was always spoken of so highly and with great fondness by Alex and I am sure you will all feel the loss of such a wonderful man immensely. May the treasured memories of John from a life well lived sustain you all in the difficult times ahead. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
With love from all at Whitechurch NS, Dublin
My sincere sympathy to Alex, Ian, Robin, Alison and Conor on the loss of their Dad.
What a sad day on Rocky Island yesterday for all of John's family as they bid farewell to him.
A touching moment as Conor reflected on his family's feelings of the loss of their Dad in a loving speech. Beautiful poems read impeccably by Aidan and Robbie would have got the thumbs up from Grandpa.
I have lovely memories dating back over c. 30 years when I first met John and Claire in Sunday's Well which will remain with me for ever. Both of them always made me feel so welcome in their home.
In more recent years during business trips to Cork I'd sometimes stay overnight in Mount Vernon as John's guest. He was always extremely hospitable to me and would be delighted with the opportunity to make me one of his specialty dishes (such as fish pie) accompanied with a glass of wine, followed by great chats as he shared great historical moments with me, often fueled with a measure of whiskey & beyond mid-night.
Like a true Rebel first thing he'd usually say when I arrived at door step was:

" Good to see you Eddie.
You're very welcome.
How are all the Jackeens in Dublin ?"

Rest in peace John, You will be sadly missed by all your family, friends and all who knew you.

Sincere condolences to John’s family members Robin, Ian, Alex, Alison and Conor and to his twin brother Pat who also was a contemporary of ours at UCC.

Before coming to Canada, I worked with John at H.N Walsh and Partners (the Consulting Engineering Company his father founded) in Sunday’s Well. We stayed in touch also when he later joined E.G. Pettit & Company (Consulting Engineers) to work on the Cork Main Drainage Scheme. No doubt, Johnny was a very dedicated public works engineer and was a team player and team leader with highly honed interpersonal skills.

Johnny was also a fun-loving and loyal friend who clearly enjoyed a joke or pun and or a good story (true or false) and quietly appreciated every ounce of life. He will be greatly missed, but his imprint on those of us who were lucky enough to know him will live on. Rest well my dear friend and classmate John.

Leaba i measc na nAingeal go raibh aige.
May Johnny’s memory be a blessing to all who met him.
