My brother, Raymond, (Smyth's, Killucan), introduced me to Johnny, his much loved and respected friend, in the late 80's.
Thus began kindnesses, on Johnny's part, that must never be forgotten.
A group of locals and myself, the nun, had acquired Kiltalown House in Tallaght, from Dublin Co.Council, as a centre to serve the huge needs of the people there, at that time. It had been vandalised and needed renovations and we had very little resources. Not only was Johnny so generous and gracious to us, but he was the link with other companys that helped us out too.
Kiltalown House was saved, due to people like Johnny, quietly in the background. It is now a thriving drug rehabilitation centre, workshop venue, counselling etc.
We will be forever grateful to Johnny. Ar rath Dé go raibh a anam dhílis!
