My sincere sympathy to John's family and friends. Charisma and intellect are a rare combination, if you add a dash of wit and a sprinkle of devilment, you get John. I once asked him why he retired so early and he said that " he was too exotic a bird to be caged.
Indeed he was.

Having moved from Offaly to Dublin, john really looked out for me and was a true gentleman. Many a good night i spent in his company. I wont ever forget his kindness and friendship. Deepest condolences to Johns family and friends. A larger than life character. Knowing John through the Ambulance Service, he was a great storyteller, with a brilliant sense of humour. He will be sadly missed by all his colleagues within the Ambulance Service.
