To Tina, Pat and Peter,
Offering our deepest sympathies to you on Uncle John's passing. He was so full of fun and what a duo he and Aunty Claire made. He was such an amazing man and I will always remember him for being so full of fun and for the enviable range of interests he pursued - travelling, cooking, photography, gardening - the list goes on. No doubt a huge reason why he was always so young at heart. I hope you guys do ok over the coming months. May he rest in peace.
All our love, Anthony & Eavan Gaffney

On behalf of the Chairman, Board and staff of Mental Health Ireland a brief note to remember John’s extraordinary and sustained commitment to improving mental health and the quality of life for people with lived experience. For so many years, John generously gave his time and many talents to making a real difference. John and my father, Tony, were great childhood friends and had a special bond throughout their lives. Not so long ago, I had the great privelage of listening to John's story-telling skills when he recounted their antics as kids in Cork and Waterford. Tony passed away on 29th May last - they are with each other again.
John was a real gentleman and a scholar - May he rest in peace.
