So sorry to hear of John's untimely passing. He was always a joy to talk to and did so much for the city and people of his adopted home in Cork. RIP.
Sincere condolences to Trish and the Miller family on the passing of John. John X. made a remarkable contribution to the City of Cork, particularly in the area of arts culture and heritage on top of his consular and international relations portfolio. He had time and support for everyone from which I also benefited and will always be grateful for. A genuine good caring person that has left the world in a better place for his efforts. Rest in peace John.
Sending sincere condolences to Karen and to the Miller family on the sad passing of your father. I hope you find solace in your memories to give you strength during this difficult period. May he rest in peace.

Saddened to hear of John's death. Always interesting and amusing. May he rest in peace.
My sincere condolences to Trish and the family on John's passing. I first met John when I came to Cork in 1981 working for Golden Discs. He loved his music and we struck up a friendship straight away. Every time he was passing the door, John and Trish called in for a chat. He was always full of style and always had a story. John was one of life's true gentlemen. May you rest in peace my friend.

Sincere condolences to Trish and the Miller family on the sad passing of John. John and I played squash together for a number of years. He was a remarkable man, witty, intelligent and a master communicator. Rest in peace John.
John was an exceptional person. I shall miss him dearly as will so many others who crossed his path. His many achievements have been listed by others, such as his outstanding work with Cork Civic Trust and Cork Vision Centre. He was totally irresistible, meet John once and you had a friend for life. Knowing him was never having to wait for his friendship……John was always in your corner: constant, generous, loyal, caring and great fun. And always saying how lucky he was to have meet his soulmate in Trisha. So proud of all his family. The lines in Born to be Wild, one of his favourite songs, about taking the world in a love embrace, perfectly encapsulated his great zest for life. It was always a tonic meeting up with him. I was privileged to have had his friendship. Ní fheicfimid a leithéid arís. Rest easy dear friend. My deepest sympathy to Trisha and all the family.
So very sad to hear of John's death. We knew each other many years between St. Peters, Cork Civic Trust, and the positive relationship and conversations we had between the Choral Festival in the development of CTH as a home for arts organisations. His kindness, charm, sense of humour, achievements, and colourful style will be a loss to his adopted city of Cork. My deepest sympathy to Trish and his family. A special man who left his mark on the cultural and civic life of the city. May he rest in peace.
Our deep sympathies to you Trish and your family on the passing of your beloved husband, father. , and friend. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of John's sad passing, a gentle soul gone too soon. Fond memories of our foreign travels together many years ago during my reporting career with the Irish Examiner/Echo. Sharp, funny and irreverent with a big intellect, and always his own man. I will miss my old travelling companion. Sleep peacefully John. My deepest sympathies to Trish and his family that meant everything to him.
Our deepest condolences to Trisha and family , I will treasure the memories of working with John X and the friendship we made over the years . He was one of a kind and we will never forget him xxx
Dearest Trish,
I’m heartbroken by the loss of John, so difficult to express my feelings in words. He had known me since I was 8/9 years old, when teaching English to my sister, brother and me in Nigeria. He was always joyful, humorous, helpful. He, together with you Trish and baby Stephen became part of our family. He was intelligent, reliable, fun, loved my Mum’s cooking. Although our paths led to other places whenever we met or talked on phone we caught up in seconds so naturally. This is possible only with true friends. Even later he was always there for me in happiness or sadness.. He was so positive, encouraging, supportive. My visit to Cork to spend some time together will always be a treasured memory. I still see him preparing dinner, listening to his anecdotes filled with laughter. The hospitality I received was extraordinary.
As a husband and father he was always there. The love between you, Trish and him is of unique, once in a lifetime and I believe this can give strenght for you Trish. As a father he was caring, let his children grow up to be independent yet was always there for them. They became wonderful people.
My heartfelt condolences to you all, he will never be forgotten to me he was family. Just like you are , Trish. Sending lots of love to all of you
Nous vous présentons nos sincères condoléances. Nous sommes de tout cœur avec vous et nos plus tendres pensées vous accompagnent.
