Sincere condolences to Johnnys family, he was a lovely neighbour (Oak Road) and friend for many years, he will be sadly missed by all the community in Donnycarney.
I was sorry to hear of the passing of Johnny. Having played for Galway in the backs the same years as he played for Dublin in the forwards we had many a tussle. He was a good honest footballer and a gentleman to play directly on . To all his family I extend my sincere sympathy. May he rest in peace.

I have fond memories of him playing on the Dublin team of the early sixties along with the Foleys, Paddy Farnan, John and Joe Timmons, Kevin Heffernan and many other great footballers
