Johnny Macken

Mona and family, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Johnny. It was such a pleasure to meet him when I'd be down home as he cycled around the town on his bike and also to meet Mona in the shop, a great couple. Fond memories back in the 60s of running across to the kiosk to get goodies while waiting for the bus from Cnoc Mhuire. Rest in peace Johnny.

Sincere Condolences to Mona & Family on the sad death of Johnny..God be with the days when we tipped over from Cnoc Mhuire for treats ..Mona was so kind & motherly to us little boarders ..this was in late 60’s when it was just a Kiosk..the highlight of the week was getting over to Macken’s & away from mundane Convent life ,Rest In Peace Johnny a lovely man who will be sorely missed - fondest of memories 🙏🏻.
