Joes family,

I was heartbroken to hear of joes passing. I had the privilege of knowing him as a friend and as a colleague during my time in Charlie chaplains. I will always remember the first time i met joe for an interview, i could tell instantly by the smile on his face that he couldnt understand a word that was coming out of my mouth with my thick Donegal accent, and vice versa i couldnt understand what language he was speaking either, however he still employed me and that was something that we joked about regularly.

I will always remember joes warm personality,kindness and infectious smile. Joe had a remarkable ability to bring joy and laughter to everyone in his company, particularly his loyal customers. It is testament to his character the lasting impact he had on so many peoples lives, including my own. Manys a late night we shared in that city.

I got to witness first hand the special bond joe shared with his young son Ben, he was a proud dad. And it is for Ben my heart breaks the most.

Although, i havnt been in the country in recent years, Joe always kept in touch even up until recently, that too epitomises his character.

I want to thank joe for his friendship, loyalty and i will never forget the memories with him.

My deepest condolences go out to joes immediate family, Jennie and young Ben.

Jennie & Ben, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Joe, it was so clear to see how much love he had for Ben on the small number of times I saw them together. They were joint at the hip and that is so special to have had. May Ben always remember how loved he was.

My dear Joe,

You made my gloomy days happy in Limerick, all I had to do was drop in to Charlie's, giving me a boost with chats and jokes. You felt like a second home to drop into.

Even giving me a job when I was struggling, making me them lovely baileys irish coffees (Because I refused to let anyone else make it), as much as you gave out about it every time, whilst listening to my rants about work or personal. You were an angel to listen and advise.

Joe, you looked out for everyone around you that came your way and you made the room feel bright and happy. I hope you're at peace Joe, I send all my best wishes and hugs to your family and friends and I wish all the best for your little one Ben. ❤️
