Very sad to hear of Joe's passing. It seems like only yesterday that Joe joined me in Invoice Control section of ESB. We shared many happy times at work and socially over the years. Rembering Joe will always bring a smile to my face. Rest in Peace Joe.

I was shocked to hear about Joe’s sudden death. I cannot comprehend how he went so soon. My sincere condolences to all his family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I would have known Joe from school and growing up in Drumcondra before meeting up again in ESB. Always had great chats with him over the years. My sincere condolences to all his family. May he rest in peace.

Deepest condolences to the Connolly family on sudden loss of Joe. I met Joe first day I joined ESB as a young 18-year-old and to me Joe was full of life, fun and always planning something. Have very happy memories of my first few years in ESB and thinking back many of them revolved around Joe Connolly. He will be sorely missed and the world is a sadder place with his passing. Rest in Peace Joe.

It was so very sad and upsetting to hear of Joes sudden unexpected passing. We knew each other for many years through significant live events and had a lot of good times together. Joe has a heart of gold and we will all miss him.

Joseph had a soft side and was genuine in his relationship with me as his brother’s wife. He always made me feel welcome and cherished as a part of the family. Most notably I loved the way he pronounced my name as Cherry! Always with a smile! He left this world far too soon. May he rest in peace! Blessings to everyone in the family at this difficult time!

Joe you are in my thoughts and prayers

I was very sad to learn of Joe’s death.
Although it is 30 years since I retired from the ESB, I have very happy memories of working alongside Joe. He was a force of nature, full of energy with a wonderful enthusiasm for life in all of its variety. I recall going swimming with him once and while I dithered on the edge he dived in and swam with the ease and grace of a seal. He was courageous, too, in the way he faced life’s challenges and full of inspiration and initiative in the way he overcame them. Although it is many years since we last met I am saddened by the fact that he is no longer about on this planet. His spirit certainly lives on. Rest in peace, Joe!
