Sorry to hear about his passing. Though we never met, I talked with him over the years about our shared love of writing. Sorry for your loss.
So shocked and saddened to hear the news of Joe's passing.
Joe was a truly beautiful writer and the genuine article. It has been an honour collaborating with him these past few years and developing a lively and affectionate friendship.
He will be remembered and missed. My condolences to Joe's family and loved ones x

Sincere consolences to all the family on the death of your brother Joseph. RIP
Knew Joe a little in college in the 70s - we both gave our religion as 'athiest' in a sociological student's survey in 1976 and the student was madly grateful, since most of the respondents were happy to say it but few would actually officially put their names to it, such was the tenor of the times.
We bumped into each other now and again over the following decades, in that janey-it's-a-small-world Irish way. We shared a great admiration for WS Burroughs, and I came to respect very much his sheer determination to go his own way.
I always felt sure that one day we'd sit down and have a long, strange cultural conversation that had been forty years in the making. I'm genuinely sorry that I was so wrong.
Condolences to the loved ones left behind. Joe was a one-off at a time when it paid to fit in. I respect him a whole lot for that.
