My family and I we're very lucky to meet Joe when walking on his land. He always had a minute to chat and share a kind word, especially about local history from the grotto to the old manor house.

How many kids remember the woods, the grotto, the quarry, the adventures, his ability to talk to anyone, regardless of status, the denim shirts with sleeves ripped off, the hino, the craic with Joe Keyes and James .. the welcome to walk his land, the breakfast in Doolans, the cowboy boots, that hair.. the willingness to help anyone who needed it… the words of wisdom … the craic in Glynn’s shop with the late Mrs Glynn, God Bless You Joe!
