Joseph (Joe) Cribbin

To dearest Auntie Joy and your lovely family Susan, Elizabeth, Adrienne and Ciara may I offer my sincerest condolences and sadness at Uncle Joe's passing. I find it hard to say exactly what I feel because I loved him too but I will try. Joe was, you both were so marvellous to my Dad in the days of his long illness and after his passing making the journey over to see Irene my mother and keeping in such regular contact. This will never be forgotten. Later the enjoyment of spending time with you both was something I have always looked forward to. You are so kind and welcoming and great craic to boot. Joe was a complete gentleman as you are a lady. We had a fondness for the same football team and being a bit of a traveller I found the stories of his journeys facinating he was so interested in the wider world but mostly I will remember him for his kindness and strength. Thank you uncle Joe again, for taking such good care of my Dad in his later days when you both worked together in Capital you were true. I am honoured to have known you..
PS. I hope you give Jim at least 6 points first round. I'm shouting for him here (He'll probably want more). From from what I hear you've been practicing Howth.

Myself and Colette always loved spending time with you and uncle Joe RIP. You always made us feel so welcome, and both of you always showed such warmth towards us.

My enduring memory of Joe was how much I appreciated both he and Joy’s ongoing relationship with our Mum after our own Dad’s death. It was a true measure of love and loyalty between the two brothers both in life and beyond. I have no doubt many golf games will be played in the sky with much arguing about results!
May he rest in peace and have a wonderful reunion with his beloved son Ken, knowing how much they are both missed by their loving family, friends and relations at home and abroad.

Thinking of Uncle Joe and sending condolences to Joy our extended family in Ireland.

On one of my visits to Ireland, Uncle Joe and Ken had graciously offered to pick myself and three of my friends up from the airport landing from Canada in Spring 2008.

They ensured we had settled into our hostel and gave us some tips as to where best watch the anticipated Ireland vs Scotland rugby match.

Uncle Joe, Joy and family continued with the hospitality the following day; taking us to Howth for some sightseeing followed by a lovely pint with much of the family.

I will always have very fond memories of Uncle Joe from trips to Ireland and his and Joy’s visits to Canada.
